Wordle has taken the world by storm recently, with share links popping up almost as commonly as similar games to Wordle (checkout my Wordle spin off if you haven't already: https://riddle.today ).
If you've been living under a rock for the past couple months and haven't seen Wordle, what is it?
Wordle is a super simply game where you try and guess a word every day, you're only allowed 6 guesses and use process of elimination and re-arranging of letters to narrow your words down. It's a pretty cool game to pass some time.
But what if you don't care about passing time, and just want to show off perfect Wordle scores every day?
Well, I'm going to show you how you can get every Wordle in 1 guess; or to put it in plain terms; how to cheat on Wordle.
The Method
We'll be using inspect element which is available on most browsers by default, I'll show you how to use Firefox and Chrome.
The method consists of using inspect element to view the local storage on your browser, which is where the website stores the information about your game; including the answer to the current Wordle!
TLDR
Go to inspect element on your browser, click on the application/storage tab, click on the nytimes.com local storage, select the nyt-wordle-state key and you'll see the solution in the value.
Chrome
- Go to Wordle
- Right click anywhere on the main section of the website, and click inspect
- You'll see a section open up somewhere on the screen (if it's at the bottom of the screen and really small, you can click and drag to open it more), click on application (if you don't see it, click the double arrows and you'll see it appear)
- In the section that says Storage find Local Storage and the https://nytimes.com option, click it.
- To the right, you'll now see a collection of keys; find the one that says nyt-wordle-state and click it
- You will see a a new section open which expands the value. Inside that, you'll see the word Solution; and next to it, the solution for todays Wordle!
Go ahead and type that in to get an instant victory on todays Wordle!
Firefox
- Go to Wordle
